Schools of Choice Information 

Thank you for your interest in Galveston ISD schools. Below you will find applications for the 2013-2014 school year.

Galveston ISD will accept applications for middle school programs, Ball Preparatory Academy, and AIM College and Career Preparatory from Jan. 15 and Feb. 15 for the first round of school applications. Elementary applications will be accepted from Jan. 26-March 1. Those planning on attending Ball High need not apply. Parents should expect to hear about which school their children will attend by April 1.

Remember, applying for a school is not the same as registering - students will be registered for their school at a later date.

Parents that do not fill out an application during the first round will be able to do so in Round 2. Parents in Round 2 will find out which school their child will be attending by June.

Other than Ball High, Students who plan to change schools for the following school year must fill out an application. If a student is not changing schools (for example, students entering Grades 1-4), they do not have to fill out an application. The following students must fill out a form.

• Incoming Kindergarten students
• Incoming Fifth Grade students
• Students that wish to attend AIM College and Career Preparatory
• Student that wish to attend Ball High Preparatory
• Students that wish to transfer schools

Students who do not need to fill out an application include: 

• 8th graders who wish to attend Ball High next year
  
• Student not changing schools next school year

Applicants will choose their top three schools they wish to attend. If the first choice is not available, the district will make every attempt to grant the second choice. Those who do not fill out an application will be placed at a campus dependent on space.

Do not fill out a form if you are seeking admission to Pre-Kindergarten for 2013-2014. Pre-Kindergarten application and registration will take place at a later date.

Students in Grades 4 must apply to a middle school program with the Middle School Application Form for all programs. However, students interested in applying to Austin will be accepted based on the school rubric. Parents will also have to sign a Parent Contract for that campus. All current Pre-Kindergarten students must apply for elementary programs. Current Pre-Kindergarten students are not guaranteed a spot at their campus unless an application is submitted. Those seeking for admission to Pre-Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year will apply and register at a date later to be determined. Only those applying for Kindergarten-Grade 4 for 2013-2014 are to fill out a form.
