A Message from Dr. Vivian Hernandez
Greetings,
My name is Dr. Vivian Hernandez. I am serving as the Family and Community Engagement Specialist (FACE) for Galveston Independent School District. I am an enthusiastic professional educator with many years of successful experience. I hold a Bachelors in Humanities, a Masters in Educational Leadership, and a Doctorate in Ethical Leadership from University of St. Thomas.
I have been so fortunate to have worked in various capacities at Ball High School. I served as the College Liaison between the high school and Galveston College, worked closely with the Ball High School administrative team to design and implement the renowned Tutor-a-Tor mentoring program addressing the needs of socio economically disadvantaged students who are at risk of not passing subject matter, state test(s), or achieving their ultimate goal-career or college ready upon graduation. As the Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Media Arts Communities Pathway Coordinator, I assisted teachers and administrators with the implementation of many successful programs.
As the FACE specialist for Galveston Independent School District, I am looking forward to continue building family and community partnerships to address the needs of the “Whole Child” by educating, engaging, and empowering EACH student for a life of Excellence. We will bridge the communication between home, school, and the community by helping parents and the community get the information, help and support they need to ensure their child’s academic and social-emotional success in school. We create and maintain resources to address the needs of students and families within our GISD community. I welcome your ideas, and look forward to working with you on behalf of the students we serve.
Please contact my office with any questions, concerns or interests. We welcome you as a volunteer in any of our district schools.
Sincerely,
Dr. Vivian Hernandez
Vivian Rose Hernandez, Ed.D.

Saludos,
