Educating Today's Students for Tomorrow's World

  • Our Mission:

The mission of Galveston ISD is to Educate, Engage and Empower EACH student for a life of Excellence

Galveston ISD offers charter schools, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) programs, magnet schools, and a Mega-Magnet High School with four smaller learning communities. Students are aided by open enrollment as well as the absence of school zones throughout the district.

Galveston ISD is a Schools of Choice District. The Schools of Choice model allows families options of which school to attend within a school system. It is one of the most unique school systems in Texas in that it allows parents to send their children to the school that best serves their interests and needs. There are no school zones and transportation is provided to students to all campuses. Students are able to attend the school of their choice provided the District has available seats at the selected school.

    Standard Response Protocol

With the help of our wonderful Ball High School students, we put together a quick video explaining each Standard Response Protocol.

The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) provides consistent, clear, shared language and actions among all students, staff and first responders, that can be applied in any emergency. Click here to learn more.
