Boxley, Endia

7th Grade Writing Teacher

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” This great quote from the late Nelson Mandela speaks volumes when it comes to my passion for teaching. I believe that if you want to see a change in the world, then you will have to be the change. By becoming a teacher, my goal is to light the path for many doors that are closed to soon open. My name is Endia Boxley, I am the 7th grade writing teacher at Central Middle School. I currently certified in 4th – 8th core subjects. I have been working in the educational field since 2007. I started my journey with the community youth development program being a mentor during tutorials and substituting in various school districts. In 2010, I was given the opportunity to work with the NIA Cultural Center’s Freedom School for three years.  I am also the director of the Central Middle School Dancing Dolls. I was born in Houston, Texas, but raised on the lovely Galveston Island. I am a graduated of the class of 2009 from Galveston Ball High School. During my time in High school, I participated in various clubs, Golden Strutterz, and the award winning, high-kicking Tornettes. I went on to further my education at the great Sam Houston State University. I received my bachelors in the fall of 2016. I am the proud mother of a very active son by the name of Ethan. When time permits me with my busy schedule, I like to dance, arts and crafts, and travel. I believe that education is important assets to life. So given the opportunity to give back to my community is a honor in itself.
