• Students must be in the Central School uniform at all times while on campus. Students are not to be allowed in classroom if they are not in dress code. Students out of dress code are to be send to the appropriate grade level Administrator.

    TOPS

    Polo-style shirts (short sleeves). Student may wear solid color polo style shirts. All shirts are worn tucked in. Oversized shirts will not be allowed.

    5th grade: Green             6th grade: Red

    7th grade: Navy Blue      8th grade: Black

    Undershirts—white or matching the color of the uniform shirt. Shirts must not hang below the uniform shirt.

    PANTS

    Boys and girls may wear solid khaki pants in a classic cut.  Fabrics blended with spandex are inappropriate. No patch pockets, metal studs, zippers, notched cuff, elastic around the waist or ankles (No Joggers), stirrups, cuffs dragging on the floor, bell bottoms, flares, or wide legs are allowed. The pants/trousers must fit and be worn at the natural waist with the waistband resting above the hip. Pants and trousers are to be loose fitting and appropriate for school.

    SWEATERS/JACKETS

    The sweaters/sweatshirts/jackets must be the same color as their uniform shirts. Hoodies are not allowed on campus.

    Students may wear solid dark green, red, navy blue, or black sweaters/sweatshirts/jackets with no logos, designs or stripes.

    All clothing must be solid color according to grade level. Free of symbols, messages or connotations alluding to violence, drugs, discrimination or conduct detrimental to the school environment. 

    No headgear (sport caps, hoods, etc) may be worn during the school day

    Note: If not wearing the proper sweater, students will receive a warning, and they will be asked to take off their jacket and place it in their backpacks. If the student continues with the dress code infractions. Teachers and/or administrators will hold the jacket and a parent/guardian will need to pick it up.

    STOCKINGS/SOCKS 

    Socks must be be worn at all times. Socks and tights must be plain (no fancy trim, logos or visible signature label marks) and of a solid color in white, navy or black. Socks must be visible above the top of the shoe. Leggings and thigh highs are not acceptable.

    BELTS

    Belts are required and must be either black or brown plain leather (includes woven leather belts) with a plain, unadorned buckle.

    SHOES

    Students are required to wear closed-toed shoes with a back for their own safety while in the building. In addition, students are required to wear no-marking soles to protect our school’s floor. Shower shoes and flip flops are NOT permitted.

    BACKPACKS & STUDENT ID

    Backpacks must See-through, clear or mesh only. No solid bags are acceptable.

    Students are required to wear a school ID while in the building. The school will provide one ID to each student. If an ID card is lost, the cost of the replacement ID is $3.00.

    The District’s dress code is established to teach grooming and hygiene, prevent disruption, and minimize safety hazards. In order to maintain an orderly environment conducive to the attainment of the educational mission and purpose of the District, all students shall be required to meet the expectations of the dress and grooming code. Dress and apparel that unduly attract the attention of other students often precipitate comments and/or other reactions that are disruptive. Safety, general health, and hygiene are factors that are also considered in the establishment of this dress/grooming and personal standards code.

    1. Student’s hair shall be neatly cut, clean, and/or combed so as to be kept out of the eyes. Odd colored hair dyes and hairstyles or cuts, which are distracting to others, shall not be permitted.

    2. Appropriate footwear must be worn.

    3. Shirts of underwear type, see-through clothing, muscle shirts, halters, spandex clothing or any clothing which exposes a bare midriff, back (below the shoulder blades), chest or underwear MAY NOT BE WORN. Shoulders, back, chest and midriff must be covered.

    4. Shorts,  skirts , Biker (spandex) shorts, boxer shorts, wind shorts, hats, and pajamas are not allowed.

    5. Clothing or possessions which promote/display inappropriate messages shall not be permitted. Apparel should not display risqué prints or symbols, gang graffiti or monikers, lewd, vulgar, obscene or suggestive language/design. Advertisements or symbols that promote or depict drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, violence or Satanism are prohibited on all apparel, jewelry and accessories. No chains, handcuffs or any other accessories that suggest weaponry will be allowed.

    6. Any clothing, which is identified by the administration as gang-related or a safety concern, will not be permitted.

    7. Pants must be worn at a natural waistline.

    8. SPECIAL EXCEPTION – This code is not to be construed so as to apply to those pupils in certain elective subjects such as band, organized sports, or to students in voluntary student organizations which are called upon from time to time to represent their school in public events. Teachers and sponsors of these subjects and organizations will continue to require those standards of dress and appearance that they deem appropriate and which have served in the past to mark those school representatives with honor and distinction.

    9. Students will not be allowed to wear visible body piercing jewelry except earrings. Earrings, if worn, must be worn in the ear ONLY GIRLS. Tongue ornaments will be considered visible.

    10. No pupil shall engage in any inappropriate public display of affection.

    11. No Color aside from their Natural hair Color.Natural hair colors are brown, black, natural born blonde and red. Extreme or fad hair styles (including styles hair with beads or other ornamental items) are not permitted.

    12. Necklaces should not be visible.

    ANY CLOTHING, PERSONAL APPEARANCE, OR PERSONAL STANDARD,

    WHICH IN THE JUDGEMENT OF ADMINISTRATOR DISRUPTS THE

    EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED. 

    If the principal determines that a student’s grooming or clothing violates the school’s dress code, the student will be given an opportunity to correct the problem at school. If not corrected, the student may be assigned to in-school suspension or be required to wear school provided clothing for the remainder of the day, until the problem is corrected, or until a parent or designee brings an acceptable change of clothing to the school. Repeated offenses may result in more serious disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
