    Who:

    • New students to GISD who applied and have a school assignment, including students returning to GISD after a period of inactivity
    • 2020-2021 Kindergarteners

    How: Read Instructions Here!!

    • STEP 1:
      • No Skyward Account: Student's parent/guardian creates an online account in SKYWARD New Student ENROLLMENT.  Student's parent/guardian will receive an email with instructions and a link to complete enrollment. 
      • Existing parent/guardian Skyward Account: Log into Skyward selecting "Enrollment for New Students" in the dropdown menu to add your new/kinder student. Enrollment for New Students in Skyward dropdown
    • STEP 2:
      • Complete forms and upload the required documents in the system:
        • Parent/guardian ID
        • Student's birth certificate
        • Student's social security card
        • Current immunization record
        • Proof of residency (mortgage or lease agreement)
        • Current utility bill

    Tip: Have a smart phone? Take a photo of these documents and upload them to Skyward from your camera roll! 

  • If you are new to Galveston ISD or are entering Kindergarten, before you ENROLL, you must APPLY and receive a school assignment letter. Click HERE to APPLY!

  • Additional Enrollment Information:

    • When prompted "Please select the school you were accepted into by Schools of Choice application process." YOU MUST SELECT THE SCHOOL YOU RECEIVED A SCHOOLS OF CHOICE ACCEPTANCE LETTER FOR. 
    • Kindergarten/First Grade:
      • Students must be five years old on or before September 1 of the current academic year to be eligible for kindergarten.
      • Students must be six years old on or before September 1 of the current academic year to be eligible for first grade.
      • A child who is not legally eligible to enter first grade, may be assigned to first grade before age six. Such assignments are the decision of the District, with the consent of the child’s parent or guardian.
