Miss Erica Farmer
IncubaTOR Instructor and Lead Teacher for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community
My name is Erica Farmer and I teach the business startup course, IncubaTOR. This class is the capstone course for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community at Ball High School. I have had the pleasure of growing young entrepreneurs in this program for the past two years. This is a collaborative work environment full of problem solving and ideation. As the classroom teacher, my goal is to help foster these business teams toward the creation of a viable business or service. I work hard to ensure there is funding available for the end of year pitch competition and also act as the community liaison. This means I bring in real world mentors and co-teachers to share their professional experiences and knowledge with our students. As an entrepreneur myself, I love to see my students gain traction with their businesses and realize how rewarding entrepreneurship can be. So when I’m not out cultivating community support for the IncubaTOR program, I enjoy downtime with my family and working on my Master’s degree. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Consumer Sciences. I attained my Texas Educator certificate in 2006 and am currently working on a Master’s degree in Educational Administration.
