Mrs. Tessie Howard

Anatomy & Physiology Teacher

My name is Tessie Howard and I teach Anatomy and Physiology at Ball High School in Galveston, Texas. I have been teaching at Ball High School since 1971. I enjoy working at Ball High because I have an opportunity to work with professional individuals and students who are truly trying to be successful products of their community. My teaching philosophy is that every student can learn if provided the proper stimulus and support. I received my Bachelor of Science from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia. I have further completed extended studies in curriculum development, teaching techniques and scientific methodologies at Dominican College, Prairie View A & M University, Galveston College, College of the Mainland, UTMB and Rice University. I am the sponsor of Health Science Career Organization and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). I am married to an individual who also supports my educational endeavors. We were both raised in Georgia but have grown to love Texas. I love to collect exotic animals and most of my collections are gifts from ‘Hubby’ on Valentine’s day. However, one year, my students gave me a lovely corn snake as an appreciation gift for supporting them in their endeavors. You can see him in my classroom. His name is Creamsicle and he is often part of my lesson plan for comparative anatomy.
