Mrs. Lana Polzin

BESTT Director

My name is Lana Polzin, and I’ve been a hardworking member of the Galveston Independent School District for over a decade and counting.

I’m a proud graduate of Texas A&M University. Luckily, College Station is only a quick four-hour drive away, so my family and I spend as much time as possible visiting and cheering on the Aggies at every sporting event imaginable!

I’ve been blessed to call several local schools my home away from home! I started my career as a Parker Pelican where I taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. After earning my Gifted and Talented (GT) Certification, I moved to Oppe to teach the 4th grade self-contained GT class. I loved working at the elementary level and never imagined myself leaving my little ones. However, when the director of Ball High’s Bridging the Educational Scene for Teachers of Tomorrow (BESTT) position became available, I simply couldn’t pass it up! Now, you can find me spending my days working with an amazing group of seniors - guiding and molding these incredible young men and women to become the leaders and educators of the future.
