Mr. Mike Dudas
Media Arts Coach/Lead Audio Video Production Teacher
I began my career in education in 2007 after a long career in Human Resources. For the first six years, I was a teacher and Magnet Coordinator at Stephen F. Austin HS in Houston. At that school, I taught Speech, Debate, Video Tech, and Broadcast Journalism. I also served as the campus' magnet coordinator for the school's Teaching Profession magnet program for two years. While at Austin HS, I was awarded the "Teacher of the Year" and district's "Debate Coach of the Year." In 2013, I worked for one year at Turner HS in the Pearland ISD. In 2014, I joined the Ball HS team. I have created several new programs and initiatives in the Media Arts Small Learning Community including Tor Nation Productions and K-TOR The Tornado. In 2017, I was awarded the Region V Magnet Schools of America Teacher of the Year. I was also recognized on Channel 11's "Great Day Houston." I enjoy creating new opportunities for my students!
In addition to our flagship radio station, K-TOR The Tornado heard @ ktorthetornado.com, we also have four (4) music stations streamed via the Live365.com platform. Ball High School is the only high school in the country that has five (5) different radio stations managed by students.
I am also the sponsor for Ball High's Tor Watch squad!
