Mr. DK Larkin
DC US History, DC Western Civilization Teacher
Since 2003 I have been teaching Dual Credit US History classes at Ball. Before working here in Galveston, I worked at Spring Westfield, Langham Creek and Tomball College. I have taught both English and History classes throughout my career. In 1967, I was born in the Jemez Mountains at a commune and attended Woodstock Music Festival in 1969; The Jefferson Airplane was my favorite performance. By the mid-1980s, I was living the conservative life in the suburbs in Northwest Harris County. During the late 1980s, I worked as a Lumberjack in the piney woods of East Texas while studying political science, law, literature, and history at SHSU. After graduating college, in 1990, I spent a few years traveling around the country training cats, writing landscape poetry and playing the Theremin and singing in an electronic psyche-folk band. Having tired of the traveling life, I returned to SHSU in 1993 to earn a graduate degree in History. My motto is "That the Future may learn from the Past."
