Ms. Paula Franklin

Ms. Franklin has been with GISD since October of 2013. She works with teachers and staff from all campuses, to ensure compliance and programming is accessible and sufficient to meet the needs of our students, and provides relevant training and updates to our staff. She is also part of thedDistrict curriculum team, district state assessment team, and the Section 504 leadership team. She is a member of the Texas Counsel of Administrators of Special Education (TCASE); and the Region IV Low Incidence Disability Network, Section 504 Leadership Network and the Special Education Leadership Network. 

Ms. Franklin is the Secretary and Membership chair of the Galveston branch of  The Association for Texas Professional Educators (ATPE), and is active on both the Legislative and Political Action Committee(PAC). She travels to Austin a few times a year to provide relevant personal testimony and facts related to public education in GISD. She has been featured in ATPE publications and is a strong supporter of public education. She was recently named the 2018 ATPE Administrator of the Year for the State of Texas. 

In her spare time, Ms. Franklin can be found at a variety of activities for the GISD Special Olypics team, as well as activities for her three bonus children and five nieces and nephews. Ms. Franklin received her B.A.S. from the UH System and her Masters of Education and Principal Certification from Concordia University in Austin.
