Mrs. Johnna Johnston

Pre-AP English Language Arts I

My name is Johnna Johnston and I teach English Language Arts at Ball High School. I started teaching for Galveston ISD at the beginning of the 2019-20 school year. I believe every student must be an active participant in their education and it is my responsibility to facilitate their academic journey. As a secondary education teacher, my goal is to help prepare the student for post-secondary success. My motto is "Motivated, Confident, and Judicious."

My husband and I celebrate many years together....since 1993. We have a beautiful daughter named Madison and she is a 2015 Colorado College grad. As a family we love tennis, travel, and outdoor activities. I enjoy reading and playing with my Chili-Dog.

Currently, am working on my Educational Diagnostician credentials at Lamar University. I graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I obtained my Bachelors from The University of Texas at El Paso in Multi-Disciplinary Studies. I was a trainer for the Department of Homeland Security before my public education career. I like to say, "I bring real world experiences to the classroom."
