HLS (Home Language Survey)
FIRST TIME IN A TEXAS SCHOOL REQUIRES A HOME LANGUAGE SURVEY TO BE SUBMITTED
The state of Texas requires a Home Language Survey be completed for each student who enrolls in a Texas public school for the first time. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian, not the school, to provide the language information requested on the form. This form can be found below, or at your student's campus. This form must be submitted on or before the student's first day of school if entering a Texas public school for the first time. If you have previously completed a Home Language Survey, it must be provided to GISD and kept as part of the student's permanent record.
