At the April 28 Board of Trustees Meeting, Galveston ISD named Sara Giambelluca as the new principal of Morgan Elementary Health, Medical Science & Engineering Magnet.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to join the high achieving team at Morgan and look forward to working with the exceptional teachers and staff to provide an outstanding learning experience for every child,” says Giambelluca.

Giambelluca has served as the assistant principal at GISD’s Parker Elementary School since 2013. She has worked at the district for 20 years, also serving as a curriculum facilitator at Parker Elementary School and a fourth-grade teacher at Burnet Elementary School.

Giambelluca will finish the school year in her current position at Parker Elementary School and transition to her new role during the summer.

“With the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the tradition of excellence at L.A. Morgan by building strong relationships with parents, students, and the community,” explains Giambelluca. 

“We will continue to focus on a culture of high expectations, positive behavior supports, data driven instruction, and growing every child socially, emotionally, and academically. It is important to me that everyone who steps through the doors of Morgan Elementary are excited to be there. The positive attitude and culture will enable us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive and nurturing environment.”
