The GOFM's Young Gardeners Program hosted its first-ever Garden Market at Crenshaw Environmental Science Magnet on May 8.
All the produce given out was harvested from Galveston ISD schools across the district. Students were able to see the process from start to finish - growing, harvesting, and selling. The Garden Market gave students the opportunity to grow their entrepreneurial skills while showcasing their hard work. The market welcomed cash donations for any produce taken.
The event also included a guided nature walk by a Galveston Bay Area Master Naturalist, an informational booth to teach more about Young Gardeners Program, and a garden tour led by YGP students.
