Congratulations to our National Junior Honor Society 2022 Inductees!
On May 5, NJHS welcomed 95 new members from Austin, Collegiate, and Central middle school during a ceremony held at Central's Auditorium.
Edwin Rodriguez, Austin's NJHS officer, led the ceremony's opening remarks, followed by the traditional NJHS candle-lighting service.
During the service, students spoke about NJHS's five pillars of membership: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. New inductees took the Honor Society Pledge led by Principal Stephany Mendoza, and Membership certificates were issued by sponsors Angela Crowder and Shelia Ross.
The National Junior Honor Society membership is invitation-only. The membership recognize students who demonstrate and are committed to the values of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character and Citizenship in school settings. Learn more about these five pillars of membership here.
Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in NJHS activities. NJHS chapters are found in all 50 states, US Territories, and worldwide. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
