GALVESTON, Texas - April 9, 2021 - Galveston ISD will be receiving 17 pallets of socks as a donation from Academy Sports + Outdoors. On Tuesday, April 13 at 2 p.m., two truckloads of thousands of socks will be unloaded at GISD’s Scott Building located at 4116 Avenue N ½.

The pallets of “broken socks” are coming from Academy’s Katy, Texas distribution center. "Broken" means the packages may be ripped, a few may be missing/mismatched, etc. They will be delivered to the district’s Family & Community Engagement (F.A.C.E.) program which will ensure that they are distributed to students who are in need.
