Thanks to Ball High School’s veteran speech teacher, Michael Merritte, Galveston ISD and Ball High were recently on display for the entire state at the 2023 Texas Speech Communication Association Convention. Mr. Merritte, a lifetime member of the organization, oversaw local arrangements for the convention, held in Houston.

The event opened with the Posting of Colors and the Pledge of Allegiance by the Ball High JROTC. The Ball High Choir followed by singing the National Anthem. In addition, Mr. Mike Dudas and his AV students documented the event. The full set of photos from the event are at this link.
