GALVESTON, Texas - May 25, 2021 - At the May 19 Board of Trustees Meeting, Galveston ISD named Dr. Jeff Post as the district’s executive director of elementary schools. Post will oversee campuses and leadership at the elementary school level. The role will include planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs with teachers and principals. He will begin his role July 1.

“I am very excited to be joining the Galveston family and I cannot wait to get started serving the amazing students, teachers, staff, and community of GISD,” says Post. “I am impressed by how leaders in GISD are committed to excellence. They convey this through their focus on building strong teams and ensuring that students have access to a variety of high-quality learning experiences.”

Post has been in education for 19 years. His last position was as a middle school principal in Fort Bend ISD. He has also served as an elementary school principal, elementary school assistant principal, and elementary teacher.

Galveston ISD is a public school district in Texas, established in 1884, that serves nearly 7,000 students.
