GALVESTON, Texas - April 21, 2022 - At the April 20 Board of Trustees Meeting, Galveston ISD named Dr. Julia Ramirez as the new Principal for Rosenberg Elementary. 

Dr. Ramirez currently serves as the Director of BioMed/STEM Communities at Ball High School. Prior to her current role, she served as Assistant Principal, District Literacy Specialist, Special Education Teacher, Special Education Administrator, and Elementary Teacher. Dr. Ramirez's husband also serves as a GISD employee, and they have two daughters in GISD schools.

Ramirez has been in education for 20 years. She graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, earned a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University, and obtained her Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in 2017. 

Galveston ISD is a public school district in Texas that serves more than 7,000 students.
