Congratulations to Dr. Julia Ramirez, Rosenberg Elementary Principal, for being selected as GISD's E3 Employee of the month!

Dr. Ramirez, born in Houston, has been with GISD since 2014. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Houston, her master's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, and her doctorate from Lamar University.

"My favorite part of my job is the opportunity to collaborate with staff, students, parents and the community to provide educational opportunities for students in the best environment possible," Dr. Ramirez said. "So many wonderful things come out of these collaborations, such as the labs at Ball High, the STEAM bus, the Rain Works Art installations and opportunities for students such as field experiences that they might not otherwise have."

Dr. Ramirez says her free time mostly consists of being a chauffeur and one of the biggest fans of her two daughters, who both attend Central Middle School. Her favorite hobby is attending live concerts.

"Dr. Ramirez has created a campus full of lifelong learners, as well as student leaders to operate a micro society. She shows compassion toward all her students. She is resilient and perseveres through adversity. She is present, leads by example, and checks in with the entire campus."
