GISD educators Stephanie Mendoza and Larrian Menifee have been selected for The Galveston County Daily News’ 40 Under 40 - a program that recognizes men and women across all industries in the county who have demonstrated personal and professional success and a commitment to the community.

Mendoza, principal at Central Middle School, has navigated the campus through the district's recent middle school realignment.

“I am honored and blessed that I was selected to represent accomplished professionals in Galveston County,” Mendoza said.

Menifee, Ball High School graduate and second-year director of the school’s choir program, was recently selected as a quarterfinalist for the 2024 Grammy Music Educator Award.

“It means a lot to me to be recognized for everything that I put into what I do," Menifee said. "My purpose on the Island and in GISD is much bigger than myself, but it always feels great to be seen by your community and recognized for your dedication and efforts."

Both honorees will be recognized in a special publication included in the July 12 edition of The Daily News. Congratulations!
