Galveston ISD is proud to welcome James Grant as the district’s new Executive Director of Operations.

Grant, who prefers to be called “Jim,” has worked in education for 39 years, including serving 14 years as assistant superintendent of operations.

A shop teacher by trade, Grant joins the GISD team by way of Florence, Texas, having served New Caney ISD for 17 years.

He attended Sam Rayburn High School and then Sam Houston State University. He earned his master’s in educational leadership at Prairie View A&M University.
