The Grand 1894 Opera House proudly unveils the cosmic winners of the Maureen "Reenie" DiMare Banner Contest, conducted in conjunction with the 28th Annual Grand Kids Festival. This year's submissions soared beyond earthly imagination, truly embodying the celestial wonders of the universe.

Participation was interstellar, with entries flowing in from four school districts in Galveston County. Out of an astronomical 1000 submissions, 200 exceptional designs emerged as the cream of the crop – 50 per category. A blind evaluation of these stellar finalists led to the selection of twelve awe-inspiring designs, all harmonizing with the ethereal theme of "Outerspace." The top three winners from each of the four grade categories will soon dawn their designs onto banners, adorning light posts throughout the Grand Kids Festival venue.

Stellar Elementary Champions by Grade Category: Grades K-2: First place, Arthur Moye, Parker Elementary, Galveston, Second place, Madeli Vera, Oppe Elementary, Galveston, and Third place, Mileena Romero, Parker Elementary, Galveston. Grades 3-4: First place, Jaretzy Cruz, Parker Elementary, Galveston, Second place, Chloe Zhang, Oppe Elementary, Galveston, and Third place, Jazz Sweet, Parker Elementary, Galveston.
