Mr. Nicolas McIntyre

Mathematics Teacher / UIL Computer Science Coach

Hi, my name is Nick McIntyre and I teach Algebra II and coach UIL Computer Science at Ball High School. I’m also a proud graduate of the BHS class of 2007. Go Tors! Prior to joining the faculty, I ran a children's makerspace, tutored undergrads in math and physics, and worked at an education startup. I began freelancing for startups and nonprofits in various technical capacities during grad school, and I draw upon those experiences in the classroom. My primary goal as an educator is to build students’ creative confidence. It’s a privilege serving the children of my hometown and a joy helping them to discover the beauty of mathematics. I earned a BS in Engineering with Honors and MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University where I co-taught my first course as a sophomore. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, surfing, traveling, and making stuff (read: I do math and science for fun).
