Registration for the Pre-K  Program Enrollment Packets Picked Up at Any Elementary School listed below:


  • Burnet Elementary – 5501 Avenue S

  • Morgan Elementary – 1410 37th Street
  • Oppe Elementary – 2915 81st Street

Enrollment Packets must be completed and returned on one of the Registration days listed below:


Friday, May 17th from 9:00 – 12:00

Wednesday, May 22nd from 9:00 – 12:00

Tuesday, June 4th from 9:00 – 12:00

Wednesday, June 5th from 9:00 – 12:00

Monday, July 1st from 9:00 – 12:00

Tuesday, July 2nd from 9:00-12:00









Registration for the Pre-K Program (2019-2020)


***Students must be three or four years old by September 1, 2019


Three (only at Rosenberg) and Four Years Old Classes - Full day from 7:30 – 3:00 – English and Bilingual Classes – GISD only


In order to qualify, students must meet TEA (Teacher Education Agency) criteria to be eligible for the program:


  • is unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or

  • is educationally disadvantaged (which means a student eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program; or

  • is homeless, as defined by 42 U.S.C. Section 1143a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person

    having lawful control of the child; or

  • is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces,

    who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; or

  • is the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was

    injured or killed while serving on active duty; or

  • is or ever has been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing held as provided

    by Section 262.201, Family Code.

  • is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as: a peace officer under Section 3106.002, Government Code; a firefighter under Section 3106.003,

    Government Code; or an emergency medical first responder under Section 3106.004, Government Code

• Parents may elect to pay tuition if their child does not qualify.

• Pre-K 4 is housed at Burnet, Crenshaw (PK 3 and PK 4), Morgan, Oppe, Parker, and Rosenberg (PK 3 & 4)

Items needed for Registration

• Child’s original birth certificate

•*Child’s current immunization records

•  *Texas Driver’s License or Photo identification of the parent or legal guardian with the current address

•  *One utility bill with current address (water, electricity, or gas) or a completed and signed (by landlord) lease agreement listing student(s) as a tenant or proof of home ownership

•  *Proof of income for all living in the household (2018 Tax Return) or W-2 or 2 consecutive pay stubs or SNAP/TANF eligibility letter
