Special Olympics

The mission of Special Olympics Texas is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Participating in competition allows our athletes to work on their social skills, stay active, build relationships, and find joy in their accomplishments. Our team prides itself with great family and community support.

Galveston ISD currently participates in Bowling, Tennis Basketball, and Track and Field.  Tennis is coached by a local foundation and practices are held outside of GISD facilities and school times.
