1996
Begins in West Texas
Graduates from Texas A&M University's College of Education and Human Development and starts his public education career.
Early career · 17 years
Classroom to campus leadership
Serves as a classroom teacher, athletic coach, instructional coach, AP reader, and campus AVID coordinator.
2004
Joins Galveston ISD
Starts at GISD as a high school teacher and basketball and track coach.
2004 – present
Rises through district leadership
Advances to assistant principal, media/innovation director, summer school principal, and executive director for secondary education.
Today
Superintendent, Galveston ISD
Leads the district with a focus on systems that work for students and the staff who serve them.
Beyond the office
His wife, Allyson, is a Doctor of Nursing Practice at UTMB in orthopedics. They have two adult daughters.
