Gifted & Talented Professional Development

Teacher collaboration: Why we're for it (even when the evidence is weak)

New teachers who provide instruction and services to gifted and talented students must complete thirty (30) hours of professional development (PD) in gifted/talented education. Teachers who have completed their initial 30 hours of GT PD, and provide instruction and services to gifted and talented students, must take a minimum of six (6) hours of GT PD annually. Advanced Placement (AP) Institutes, Rice Summer Institute, and Laying the Foundation can be used by Pre-AP/AP teachers as their annual GT six (6) hour update.

Contact Stephanie Mizelle at stephaniemizelle@gisd.org for TAGT online GT PD options.
