Galveston Island Virtual Academy (GIVA) 2026–2027 School Year | Grades 9–12
Interested in a fully virtual learning experience? GIVA is now accepting applications for new and returning GISD students in grades 9–12.
This program will launch with a minimum of 20 enrolled students, including at least 10 who are new to GISD. Securing enough interest is key to getting GIVA off the ground — your application matters!

Important Enrollment Requirements
- Incoming Kinder and new elementary students must have a Schools of Choice Placement Letter. Acceptance letters will be emailed 3/25/26.
- Proof of Residency is only required for students new to your campus and changes of address — including all new students, students entering grade 5 (Weis), grade 7 (Central), grade 9 (Ball), or students switching campuses.

- Birth Certificate
- Parent ID
- Social Security Card
- Proof of Residency
- Immunization Record
- Court Documents (if applicable)
- Home Language Survey (1st time in TX public school)
