Public Information Request

Galveston Independent School District, as a local governmental entity, is subject to the requirements of the Texas Public Information Act. 

Please note that depending on the specific request and volume of information involved, cost of providing copies of public records, including factors like standard paper copy price, labor charges, overhead costs, document retrieval fees, and the cost of non-standard formats like CDs or DVDs may be incurred by requestor.

All requests must be submitted in writing and should contain:

  • Your Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Fax number (if applicable)
  • Description of the information and/or document open requested.

The request must ask for records or information already in existence. The Act does not require the district to create new information, to do legal research, or to answer questions.

To request information from this governmental body, use one of the following methods:

    • Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (closed on Fridays in June and July.)
