Advanced Placement
The Advanced Placement (AP®) Program allows high school students to participate in a college level course and possibly earn college credit while still in high school. In May of each year, students can earn college credit by showing mastery on the AP exam for each course. AP exams contain both multiple choice and free response questions that require students to write essays and/or solve problems.
The College Board® is the organization responsible for developing the college readiness system that includes AP courses.
