Our Vision Statement

The Galveston Independent School District MIS Department believes that technology is a resource that enhances the teaching and learning experience by empowering students and teachers. Additionally, technology provides staff the tools needed to efficiently and effectively operate all District administrative and support requirements. It is the vision of the Department to create an environment where students, teachers and staff have safe, secure, and reliable access for all to technology that fosters creativity, critical-thinking and higher learning. MIS evaluates and implements emerging technologies in concert with our user community and MIS Districtwide Technology Team Members. Our charge is to provide tools for teachers to educate students so they can face the future. We may not see the future but they will. Our job is to help them make something of it.
